Want an easy but meaningful volunteer project? Join the Notes of Encouragement Campaign today!
The Notes of Encouragement Campaign asks volunteers to write short, fun notes of encouragement to our students in Mali. These notes are fun for our students to receive, give them a little bit of a boost, and provide a fun way to practice English.
Our goal for the 23/24 school year? To provide a note to every single one of our students — that’s about 4,000 notes!
This is a great project if you have just one hour or ten to donate. This is also a really great group or family project for an afternoon or evening. Depending on how much you decorate your notes (or not), we estimate it takes about an hour to create 10 notes (the minimum commitment). Learn more and sign up below!
Once you sign up, we will email you written instructions.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR STUDENTS/TEACHERS: Our Notes of Encouragement Campaign is 100% self directed. We welcome students looking for a fun and impactful way to earn community service hours and we are happy to provide confirmation of time spent based on the number of notes you submit (we estimate it takes about an hour to create 10 notes). We simply ask that you submit your completed notes along with a draft of a letter, addressed appropriately, indicating the amount of time you spent. We will put your draft on our letter head and return a signed copy to you by email. Please keep in mind we are a small organization and this project is coordinated by a volunteer, responses to service hour confirmations may take several days.
