By Merritt Frey, Executive Director
I'm happy that through this job I've met some of the greatest young people, both in Mali and in the United States. Lately, I've had the pleasure of working with Roshini, who inspired a whole new project at Mali Rising. Today, with the help of Roshini and four other high school students who make up the Youth Ambassadors Advisory Council, we're pleased to open applications for 18/19 school year Youth Ambassadors.
Mali Rising's Youth Ambassadors Project harnesses the energy of young people in the U.S. to help Mali Rising's students. At the same time, Ambassadors are building their own leadership skills and fostering international understanding among young people.
Any high school student in the United States is eligible to apply. Ambassadors are selected by a leadership group of their peers -- the Youth Ambassadors Advisory Council. The Council is looking for creative Ambassador applicants who are willing and able to donate their volunteer time and energy.

The Youth Ambassadors Advisory Council, made up of five high school Ambassador volunteers, will review applications on a rolling basis beginning in August 2018. Twenty Ambassador slots are available until filled. Apply by September 30 (late applications may be considered, if space allows). Don't wait until the last minute though -- rolling application review may mean spots are filled early!
