Feeling Powerless? Take Back the Power With The Kids of N'Goko!

By Merritt Frey, Executive Director

Do you sometimes feel powerless when you read the news? Like there’s just no way you can make an impact? I relate. But there are things you can do, and one of them is literally concrete — help build a school that will change lives for kids in Mali. Those changed lives will change our world.

Seriously.

N’Goko’s primary school students, like this young girl, need your help to build a middle school. Without that help, they will face a 6-mile walk to school…which as a practical matter means they will have to drop out.

Studies show education helps individual kids build better lives, but they also show education helps us all build a better world. Education has been shown to help lift countries out of poverty, reduce instability and the threat of war, and strengthen democratic engagement.

So help us in the final fundraising push for building a school for the great kids of N’Goko. Do it for the kids, but also do it for yourself and everyone around the world — an investment in education is an investment in our joint future. Like it or not, we are all in this together!

And truly, we are all the same — no matter where we’re from we want a better future for our children. When we talked with parents in N’Goko, they dreamed that education would let their children grow up to be everything from President to teachers. In all, about 100 children will attend a new middle school in N’Goko. Meet two young people who will benefit from the new school in N’Goko — Djènèbou and Moustafa.

Get involved in N’Goko today and start changing the world tomorrow!
