Mali Rising’s Girls’ Project strives to get more girls into school and help them succeed and thrive once they are there. In the past six years, we’ve helped girls in eight different villages get into school and stay there. This summer, we are selecting five new villages for intensive work via the Project. We are excited to announce those new villages today.
Donate Your Birthday to Mali's Kids
I recently turned 50. (Seriously, ack.) But it was the most satisfying birthday I’ve ever had. Why? I donated my birthday to the kids of Mali Rising! You can do that too! It is so easy to do. I personally love biology and learning about the natural world, so I decided to raise funds for natural science (like our biology class) textbooks for students at a Mali Rising school that had ZERO natural science books. My goal was to raise funds for 50 books , but in the end my wonderful friends donated 180 books!
Celebrating the End of the Year With Our Girls
Our Girls’ Project works intensively in a group of villages for 3 years before moving on to a fresh set of villages. As this school year ended, we said goodbye to five intensive partner villages with big community celebrations. During these celebrations, several mothers of students testified about the success of their daughters thanks to the Girls’ Project..
Djeneba Sews A Better Life
Djeneba Samake is very ambitious and always dreams big. She graduated in 2019 from Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s Learn for Life Academy. Since she was in the middle school, Djeneba dreamed of becoming a tailor, but she wondered how she could achieve this as she comes from a very poor family. Luckily, after graduation Mali Rising donors granted Djeneba an Inspiration Scholarship. This scholarship allowed her to enroll in the Centre Ahawani in Ouelessebougou, a three-year professional tailor program

Want to Help Mali's Students?
Every wondered how you could help Mali Rising’s students? How about hosting a house party this summer? A house party is a quick and informal way to build support for Mali Rising’s students. House parties are totally flexible – they don’t even need to be in your house or a party! You could host a picnic at the park or cocktail hour at a local pub…but most people find it fun to have a gathering in their home or yard.
