Want to be let in on a little secret? Of course you do -- we all love secrets.
All right then: Personally, I think the most fun and rewarding way to get involved with giving to Mali Rising is through our sustainer program -- the Villagers.
You become a Villager by sponsoring one or more students at the Denik Middle School in Zambougou. Being a Villager means you're part of something bigger than yourself and connected with the children of Zambougou. You'l join a group of people passionate about exploring other cultures and creating a better future for Mali's kids. And you help Mali Rising be the most efficient we can be with your dollars -- your regular gift reduces administrative costs and sends more funds right to the classroom.
For just $7 a month, you can provide the textbooks, trained teachers, safe classrooms, and more that a student needs to make the most of their education. In exchange, we connect you with your village through regular updates, students stories, progress reports, and cultural exploration.
This is what makes the Villagers so much fun! You receive special, insider content that connects you with your village, your students, and your gifts in action. For a silly example, check out this video where a Zambougou mother and several village children attempt to teach me to carry water on my head:
But in all seriousness, you receive so much more. You'll receive:
- Quarterly updates from your village school.
- Stories, photos, and videos from the students and schools you've supported.
- An annual special surprise gift from Mali.
- A year-end report card on your school.
- The opportunity (not required, but fun!) to connect with your school's students through easy volunteer projects.
So learn more about becoming a Villager and join us in the good work and fun today!
