This week our donors’ generosity is taking form as a gathering of more than 40 teachers from 21 Mali Rising schools. This year is the fourth year that donors have funded training sessions, and to date we have helped more than 120 teachers.
This year's training was designed after in-classroom teacher observation at four of our schools. As a result, the agenda focuses on how to teach large groups (some of our classes have 100+ students!), supporting girls’ needs in the classroom, and the specifics of teaching specific subjects, such as science and French.
The training’s objectives are: the improvement of the quality of teaching, improving classroom practices, and improving student’s participation in classes (especially girls). Our training will be prepared and facilitated by educational experts over a period of 5 days. After the training, we will do a post-evaluation again observing the teachers in their classrooms to measure the application of acquired skills during training.
Thank you to all of the donors who sponsored teacher training and support — by helping our teachers, you are helping our students! Learn more about the Teachers Project.
