At the very beginning of March, we shared our excitement as a new school began to rise from the dust in the village of N’Goko. Last week, our Construction Manager visited the site again and found that the school now looks like an actual school…or at least the skeleton of one!
The kids of N’Goko have waited a long time for this school, as construction was delayed by the pandemic. We are so happy to see it rising quickly now. We are every bit as eager as the village kids and parents to see this school finished and offering a safe, local education to the kids.
On last report, the school was on track to be finished by the end of March, so the end is truly in sight! As construction wraps up, our Manager will head out to the site for a last inspection to make sure everything is safe and solid for the children. The school will then be turned over to the village to manage and run, although we will continue to partner with them to make sure the school has what it needs to help the children learn and grow.
Thanks to all the donors who made this school possible. Stay tuned for a celebration of success when construction is complete and the “keys” are handed over!
