Can You Build a School With Your Feet?

This quote made us laugh, but the serious truth is that for many kids in Mali the walk to school is simply too long. You can help change that!

This quote made us laugh, but the serious truth is that for many kids in Mali the walk to school is simply too long. You can help change that!

Do you think it is possible to build a school with your feet? We do.

Okay, maybe not literally with your feet. But by walking to raise funds this May, your feet can play a central role in building our newest school for kids in the little rural village of N’Goko, Mali.

This May, we challenge you to walk or run the distance children in rural Mali villages walk to get to school in one week (40 miles) or one month (160 miles).  Just think — you can get out and enjoy the spring while helping hundreds of children get into school and on their way to a better life.

A registration fee of $30 gives you access to an easy fitness app to track your miles. We’ll keep you inspired with stories and updates throughout the month of May and prizes are available for individuals and teams, such as family, church, community, or corporate groups.

We encourage you to also use the app to raise pledges from friends and family. This will keep you motivated and help kids in Mali by giving them a chance at the most life-changing opportunity -- a quality education. You don’t have to raise millions to help! For example, challenge your friends and family to support your walk by sponsor four bricks in the school’s walls — that’s just $16!

Your registration fee and any optional pledges you raise will help build a school for children the village of N’Goko in southern Mali. Take a walk. Build a school. Change a life.
