One of only two Mali Rising elementary schools, Ben Dixon Elementary School was opened in 2010. The school was sponsored by the Dixon family in honor of their young son Ben, who passed away. The school sits in the little village of Manabougou, a rough ride down a rutted red dirt road. In the 23/24 school year, Ben Dixon Elementary had a wonderful facelift sponsored by the Dixon family — returning the classrooms to the bright, safe places of learning every school should be!
